Deanne Janszen

Founder & Head Trainer, Dogs At Work

Deanne is a Professional Dog Trainer certified through Australia’s National Dog Training Federation, with her expertise further supported by a Bachelor of Science double-majoring in General Biology and Zoology.

Driven by a lifelong passion for understanding animal behaviour, she has gained hands-on experience in veterinary clinics and animal rescues across the globe. Her journey began in Abu Dhabi, UAE, before she returned home to Australia – where her family adopted a German Shepherd with significant behavioural challenges.

Those challenges sparked everything. After successfully rehabilitating her own dog and achieving remarkable results, Deanne became dedicated to helping other owners overcome similar obstacles and enjoy stress-free lives with their dogs through proven training and management methods.

Today, Deanne shares her life with her Belgian Malinois, Alika – a breed known for its intensity and drive. Through extensive training and teamwork, the pair have earned numerous accolades in the canine community, including gold medals in Bikejoring and Canicross, K9 Superwall records, and Australia’s third-highest Mondioring Level 1 score – not to mention Deanne becoming Australia’s first female to certify as a Mondioring Decoy.

For Deanne, these achievements mark only the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of excellence in dog training.
