Farm Stay & Train is a 10 day board and train program run by Dogs At Work on a private 99 acre farm in Bellingen, near Coffs Harbour. Your dog lives in a home environment with trainer Deanne Janszen, receives a personalised training program and daily socialisation, and you receive video updates throughout. It suits busy owners, families heading away on holiday, and anyone who is not getting results training alone. We offer pick up and drop off across Sydney’s Northern Beaches and areas on route.

Your dog is cared for and trained by Deanne Janszen, a professional dog trainer certified through the National Dog Training Federation, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Zoology and hands on experience from veterinary clinics and animal rescues.

Ghost had an absolute blast at the March ’26 Farm Stay & Train with Deanne. I believe a great dog trainer does not only need to possess the skills, but also the heart and love for dogs, and Deanne was exactly that. It took Ghost a while to say goodbye to his amazing teacher when it was time to go home XD. Although the program was short, it was enough to see enormous progress in Ghost’s swimming/confidence in water and his play engagement, which were things we struggled with at home.

Where is the Farm Stay & Train located?

Your dog stays at a private 99 acre property in Bellingen, near Coffs Harbour. We offer pick up and drop off across Sydney’s Northern Beaches and areas on route.

How long is the Farm Stay & Train program?

The program runs for 10 days of in home style boarding, with a personalised training program, daily socialisation and play, and regular video updates.

Does my dog need to be social to join?

No. Every program is tailored to the individual dog. Dogs that are not social can work on building positive associations with other dogs at a pace that suits them.

How many dogs stay at one time?

We keep numbers small, with a maximum of 5 dogs per stay, so each dog gets focused time with the trainer.

What does my dog need to bring?

Your dog needs a collar and leash, which are returned after the stay. A blanket, food and any medication are optional, and can be handed to the trainer at pick up.

What food will my dog eat during the stay?

Dogs are fed Kangaroo Prime 100 rolls. If your dog has allergies or special dietary requirements, you will need to supply their own food.

Where will my dog sleep?

Dogs sleep inside the home in individual crates, placed according to each dog’s needs.

Will I get updates while my dog is away?

Yes. You receive video updates during the stay and a handover email at the end, and you have direct contact with the trainer throughout.

What happens if something goes wrong during the stay?

We contact you immediately and take your dog to the nearest vet. If we cannot reach you, the trainer makes the decision on your dog’s care.
