Behaviour Modification for Reactive, Anxious and Aggressive Dogs

When your dog is struggling, we look deeper. We identify the underlying cause of the behaviour and build a detailed, tailored training plan to help your dog feel calmer, more confident and easier to live with.

What Behaviour Modification Covers

Our Behaviour Modification sessions are designed for dogs experiencing more complex behavioural challenges, including anxiety, fear, reactivity, or aggression. These 1.5-hour, one-on-one sessions are held at our Terrey Hills (2084) training location, allowing us to assess your dog’s behaviour in a controlled environment and develop a tailored training plan.

Every dog behaves for a reason. Rather than simply managing unwanted behaviours, we work to identify the underlying cause and provide practical, effective training strategies that create lasting change. You’ll gain a better understanding of your dog’s behaviour, learn how to communicate clearly, and leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue progressing at home.

Whether your dog struggles with reacting to other dogs or people, displays aggressive behaviours, experiences anxiety, or has other behavioural concerns, our goal is to help you build a calmer, more confident, and more reliable companion.

General Obedience: Loose Leash Walking, Recall and Focus

A focused one-hour session where our trainer works closely with you and your dog on the skills of everyday obedience, building real-world manners and a stronger connection between you both.

What General Obedience Covers

Our General Obedience sessions are ideal for dogs of all ages looking to develop reliable everyday skills and build a stronger relationship with their handler. These 1-hour, one-on-one sessions are held at our Terrey Hills (2084) training location and are tailored to suit your individual goals and your dog’s current level of training.

Whether you’re starting with the basics or refining existing skills, we’ll help you build clear communication, engagement, and reliability through practical training grounded in science. Common training goals include loose leash walking, recall, engagement and focus, impulse control, basic obedience, and improving your dog’s ability to remain calm and responsive in everyday situations.

Each session is designed to give you the skills and confidence to continue training at home, creating lasting results that make life with your dog more enjoyable both at home and out in the real world.

In-Home 1-on-1 Dog Training

Real-life challenges, solved where they happen. A one hour session in your own home, tailored to your dog’s needs and your household routine, from door manners to nuisance barking.

What In-Home Training Covers

Our In-Home Training sessions are perfect for addressing behaviours that occur within your dog’s everyday environment. These 1-hour, one-on-one sessions take place in your home, allowing us to work on real-life challenges where they happen most. As part of the wider range of programs offered by Dogs At Work, this service is available exclusively to clients located in the Sydney Northern Beaches (2084 to 2108), St Ives (2075), and Chatswood (2067).

Training is tailored to your dog’s individual needs and your household routine. Common goals include improving household manners, promoting calm behaviour around the home, reducing nuisance barking, preventing jumping on guests, settling in the house, door and boundary manners, and establishing clear rules and structure.

By working in your home, we can identify the factors contributing to unwanted behaviours and provide practical training solutions that fit seamlessly into your daily life. You’ll leave each session with the knowledge and confidence to continue reinforcing your dog’s progress, creating a calmer and more enjoyable home environment for both you and your dog.
